The short answer
Home automation is priced per device, not per square foot. A single room with a few lights and a fan can start at a few thousand rupees. A full 2 or 3 BHK depends on how many switches, fans and appliances you want on the app. We give a written per-room quotation after a free site visit, with no obligation.
What you pay for
- Smart switch modules: one module controls one or more circuits (lights, sockets). More switches on the app means more modules.
- Fan controllers: each fan you want to control by speed needs its own fan module, which replaces the old regulator.
- Heavy-load modules: geysers, ACs and 16 A kitchen sockets need stronger modules than a light does.
- Touch panels (optional): glass touch panels change the look of the switchboard. Retrofit modules keep your existing switches and cost less.
- Sensors (optional): gas, smoke and motion sensors add safety alerts and automations.
- Installation and setup: fitting the modules, linking them to Wi-Fi, naming rooms in the app and linking Amazon Alexa.
What does not change the price much
The Humina app is free on Google Play, and linking it with Amazon Alexa costs nothing extra. Because Humina modules fit behind your existing switchboard, there is no rewiring, no wall breaking and no repainting to pay for.
How to plan your budget
- Start with the devices you use every day: bedroom lights and fans, the geyser, the main hall lights.
- Add the things you forget to switch off: geyser, AC, porch light, the kitchen chimney socket.
- Leave decorative or rarely used lights for later. You can add modules room by room at any time.
- If you are buying an Echo for voice control, add that separately from Amazon.
Retrofit or full smart panels?
If you like your current switchboards, retrofit modules are the most economical way to go smart. If you are renovating or want a premium look, glass touch panels replace the switch plate itself. Many homes mix the two: panels in the living room, retrofit modules everywhere else.
